Random 2

It has been so long since I went back to my old hometown. 2 side with a palm oil trees and tiny rocky roads. Remind me a lots of childhood memories. Catch fish with my cousins, run along near the palm oil field and found scary snake, cycle on the rocky roads and fall down. Yet, I still leave my scar with me. Stay on my uncle store and waiting ice stick from fridge. Both hands full with snacks and sweets bring back to grandmother house. Though, my cousin will fight with me. But we still pleasure and share together. Cousins turn into mature and some are married. We seldom play like old time we had have before. Somehow, we care each other and keep good contact with each other.

Walk down to the street; I can smell the salted fish, spices, garlic, onion, fresh coconut milk and etc. That’s my grandmother house, is an oldies wooden made sundry shop. Behind of the shop is where grandmother lives. Middle of the house growled big trunk green coconut. She always likes to order her Indian workers pick it down and let us taste the fresh coconut water. When time passed, grandmother is getting older and the green coconut doesn’t have fruits anymore, just become a tall and old tree stand in the middle.

Flash back the aged album took by grandparents, found out they are sweet couples I haven’t saw ever. Bride photo with black and white background, travel Penang Island together and that’s their honeymoon. Every time smile on their oldest post and fashion styling on the photo. Grandmother will repeat and repeated to their stories, how she and grandpa meet and how they grow my father up. I constantly listen and absorb her happiness even while story about their hard time, she still smile and tough to stand still. Father told us to learn from grandmother, who a good life example in our lifetime.

Chinese New Year will be ending on this coming Sunday, meaning our 15 days relaxing and enjoyable holidays officially say goodbye to us. Well, Holiday ended while we have to go back to school or work. However, we are not emotionally prepared to concentrate on our own responsibility. That’s quite normal after a week of lazy without stress and tension. Sleep at midnight and wake up in the afternoon, variety choices of foods, gambling unlimited and best time for gathering. Basically lack of time for us to rest in the entire week.

As a student who need to hand in assignment after the holidays. I’m fully utilizing my time for rest, play and homework. In between progress of being successful is so hard when I decided to do my homework in the holidays itself. Yet, pleasure on my prefect timing arrangement. Thank god, I’m controlling myself to concentrate when I have to. Eventually, I manage to finish my homework and hand in on time. Not only 1 assignment but is few of it. I’m glad and feel excited on what I have done. Though when I saw an email, it made my heartbeat beats faster, breathe slow and hard and sweat on my hand. My mid term examination is on the 8th of March!

Controversy on examination is to test of knowledge not of students’ memory and not of ability of the student; but material we absorb in the class and information we develop and usage on the daily life. Essentially mid term examination is to know how we understand to our subject so far. Honestly, I haven’t got ready for the examination. Lecture notes and textbook is still inside my drawer. Atmosphere surround me affected I’m not focus. While still fooling around and enjoy my great holidays at home. Someone please knock my head and order me to deliberate on my study.

Festival!

What are festivals? There are lots of festivals in Malaysia because we have many different religions. This week is a festival week for the Chinese in Malaysia! Are Chinese New Year and this year the first day of Chinese New Year fall on the same day with Valentine’s Day? Chinese New Year is a big day for all the Chinese in Malaysia. Before a month of Chinese New Year, every family starts to clean and decorate their house with red lantern, flowers, and all kind of red color stuff. The Chinese New Year song are play every where including the shopping centre and restaurants.

Few months before the Chinese New Year, I’d started to buy my new clothes. It is a must for us to wear new clothes during Chinese New Year and we are not allowed to wear black color clothings. Everyone wears their new clothings and back to their hometown for Chinese New Year celebration. On the first day of Chinese New Year, a reunion dinner will be held on every family and all the family member suppose to go back home for the dinner. Most of the family will eat a dish called ‘yee sang’. We need to mix all the ingredient of the food (yee sang) by chopsticks. All the food we eat during Chinese New Year has its own meaning, like mandarin orange means gold because of the Cantonese sound of it and the ‘yee sang’ I’d mentioned it means ‘good luck’.

All the kids will get red packet from the adults, we called it as ‘ang pow’. We are not allowed to sweep the floor on the first day of Chinese New Year because it is a tradition. During the olden days, sweeping the floor means sweeping away those good luck out from the house. Some of them will visit their relatives and friends during the first day but mostly will only visit on the second day. We try all types of cookies, candy, mandarin orange, drinks and play while visiting relative’s house. Get to meet all the relatives whom went overseas for further studies or work.

This year is not a good year for me because I’m sick during the Chinese New Year Eve and until now I’m not recover yet. How pathetic! But we still love Chinese New Year, aren’t we? :)

Animal rights 2

Let’s continue the topic of my previous post. I had a dog named ‘four four’ and it was a poodle but he has sadly departed from us. Before I moved to this house, my mom gave it to her friend’s daughter because my house has lots of glasses so she’s worried that he is too naughty and break it. After a year, I’ve been told that the dog passed away because it ran out from the house and ate something which was poisonous to him. While I’m writing this topic, I’m thinking is there really such a person that can abuse an animal that look as innocent like them? Don’t they feel guilty if they really do so?

I’ve actually received lots of email that talk about animal abuse. After I read the mail, make me understand that how heartless a human can be. Animals like dogs or cats don’t attack people until the people want to attack them but why a human can be cruel towards an animal. They are really loyal to people if we (people) treat them like a friend.

I think lots of you heard ‘we’d rather naked than wear fur’? There are volunteers from PETA (People for ethical treatment to animals) have had a riot on the street saying that they’d rather be naked than wearing fur. There are lots of people arguing on animal rights but we shouldn’t just talk about it and we have to do it too.

Some of them even bought a puppy just because of everyone or some celebrities are having a puppy and he/she wants to own one too. That is really unfair, animal is not our toys. Own them if you really love it or you can take good care of it not because just for fun or bought it back and just close it in the cage. For me that am actually counted as abuse too!

Cute and Innocent? Will you still feel like abusing this dog after you have seen this picture?

What do you guys think after you have seen this picture?
We shouldn’t be so cruel to the animals and we should save the animal.

Animal rights 1

What is an animal rights? Animals can’t voice out what they want so they should accept everything that human being did to them? Maybe it is really unfair to the entire animal but human being doesn’t really care! Cases of animal cruelty are getting serious day by day, and we just choose not to take it serious or that is not of our concerns. Sometimes we should think like one of the animals, what is the feeling of being killed just to satisfy the human beings. Examples like China, some animals are not only food for them but are also made to become herbs. Dog meat is an example. The citizens of China believe that dog meat can help keep the human body warm during the winter. We can see lots of stalls selling dog meat and the price is higher than the other types of meat. People who have been to Thailand before should know that they can get fried lizard, fried grasshopper and etc easily because they sell it just beside the road. Eating animals like dogs, cats, snakes, monkeys and etc is illegal in Malaysia. I’m proud to be a Malaysian because I don’t eat dogs, cats, even beef or lamb and etc!

For some, they kill animals not only make them as food but also just to get their SKIN. Like crocodile, tiger, cow, snake, pig and etc. They get their skin just to make them into expensive or so called “trendy” accessories like purse, handbag, shoes and clothes. Some branded shops even put a label in front of the handbag to show the customer that what is made from. They will label as “Made in pig skin” or “Made in crocodile skin” in front of the handbag. Not only handbag, they also use tiger skin or fur to make clothes or some home decorations. Just because of the word ‘TREND’ the humans are willing to kill the entire animal to get the skin and wear it on their body.

Not only that, all the girl should support the brand of cosmetics or skin care that is labeled with ‘against animal testing’. Some brand will test the products on animal before they launch it, just to make sure that the product will have no side effects when it is applied on the human’s body.
